Just wrapped up an incredible day at Taveuni Ocean Sports! (@taveuni_ocean_sports) explored one of the world's most breathtaking snorkelling spots, right here in Taveuni. Known for its vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life, Taveuni is a snorkeller's paradise, especially around the Somosomo Strait, dubbed the “Soft Coral Capital of the World.” 🐠🌿 We were mesmerised by the Cabbage Patch—a stunning underwater garden of cabbage-like soft corals, including the Sinularia dura species. Located on the Rainbow Reef, this site offers a shallow, easy dive, bursting with tropical fish and marine wonders. The unique formations of the soft corals truly live up to the name “Cabbage Patch.” 🥬🐟
After snorkelling, we visited Somosomo town, famous for being the hometown of Fiji's first president. We also explored Naselesele Village, home to Fijian rugby union player Selestino Ravutaumada (@selebucho ), and even got to see his parents' house!
