🌴✨ Today we explored the stunning Nacula Village in the Yasawa Islands!
This vibrant village, the largest on Nacula Island, is home to the biggest school, a boarding school that helps children continue their education. After a quick boat ride from the Blue Lagoon Resort, we immersed ourselves in the heart of Fijian culture, learning about the diverse religions and visiting the local church and chief's house.
One highlight of our visit was discovering that this is the birthplace of Laisani Likuceva, affectionately known as “Fijiana.” A talented rugby sevens player, she made her mark by winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and is set to represent Fiji in Paris 2024! 🥉🏉
We also had the joy of meeting the incredible women of the village, who showcased their beautiful artisan crafts and local jewelry. ✨
To cap off our day, we visited the primary school, where the children welcomed us with open arms and cheerful “Bula!” Their smiles truly made our hearts warm.
